WHO WE ARE
Sanguine Theatre Company discovers and produces new plays, champions the exchange of theatrical work across regions, and cultivates an active community of artists and theatregoers. By telling vital human stories, Sanguine hopes to reflect, amplify, and contribute to the narrative of our time.
Founded in 2010, Sanguine conducted its first rehearsal by cramming 12 people into a recently-vacated bedroom in Washington Heights. Since that time, Sanguine's founders and new recruits have been driven forward by this motto: "I'll either find a way or make one." In August of 2013, Sanguine Theatre Company officially received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
